Woo-hoo, Emmys!

If I'd started blogging earlier in the week, I might have mentioned how excited I was that both Jeremy Piven and Kiefer Sutherland got Emmy awards on Sunday.

And how Chandra Wilson, Sandra Oh and Jean Smart all got totally robbed - there should have been a 3-way tie for best-supporting actress in a drama.

Oh, and how My Name is Earl also got robbed by not even being NOMINATED for best comedy, but that it at least won both the best directing and best writing awards.

But then things probably would have gotten ugly when I descended into a rant about the travesty of the treatment of Arrested Development, which, WOO-HOO! season 3 came out on DVD today and payday is Thursday and I am SO completing my set, but still the fact that there will never be any more episodes ever is just plain wrong and just thinking about it is bringing the whole mood of this post WAYYYYY down.

So it's just as well that now at mid-week, the Emmys are old news and I can just secretly gloat that I've been a fan of 24 since the first episode and have never missed one ever and am so happy that Kiefer has finally been recognized for his amazing work.

And that there's no reason to mention how I still haven't forgiven ABC for cancelling Piven's excellent series Cupid even if it has been almost 8 years and how I was a huge fan of his before anyone knew him as anything other than John Cusack's best friend, and in fact before anyone had even heard of Mark Wahlberg (on whose Hollywood beginnings Piven's HBO series Entourage is loosely based but which would be NOTHING without the Piv) and am just mentally chanting the not-at-all childish "Neener neener" at ABC for not recognizing genius when they had it.

Or that I have pins strategically placed for maximum suffering in voodoo dolls representing key Fox decision makers - whoever you are that cancelled Arrested Development AND cut down the number of episodes in the process AND scheduled the final four episodes on a Friday night at the same time as the opening ceremonies of the Olympics - well, let's just say there's a reason why you're suffering a lot of aches and pains these days.

Why yes, as a matter of fact, I do hold grudges ...

Joining the 'blogosphere

So here goes my first attempt at posting something to my newly-created blog.

Seems to be working so far.

Not really sure where I want to go with this, but I'll experiment a little and see how it develops.
